DIFFUSER BLEND RECIPE

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Fall in Love with this Autumn Diffuser Blend

Follow the directions for the amount of water for your specific essential oil diffuser.

Add the following:

  • 3 drops of Cinnamon Bark
  • 2 drops of Clove Bud
  • 4 drops of Sweet Orange
  • 1 drop of Nutmeg

(Adjust your blend to your room size, you may need a little more or less. It is easy to customize to your own preferences.)

STOCK BLEND

You can add the drops directly to your diffuser or make a stock blend. A stock blend is very convenient for on-going usage. To make a stock blend you simply use an empty, dark glass bottle with a dropper top. You can make a lot or a little. Multiply the number of drops in the single application by ten for easy math. If this seems like too much, just make the amount you think you will use in your home.

I recommend using the single size recipe first to make sure you are happy with the aroma. You can tweak the recipe to your personal preference.

You can make a similar blend by changing it up a bit. I love the addition of the Balsam Fir.

ALTERNATE RECIPE

A Stroll Through the Woods

Fall in Love with this Autumn Diffuser BlendFor a more wintery blend, try this combo:

  • 2 drops of Cinnamon Bark
  • 1 drops of Clove Bud
  • 3 drops of Sweet Orange
  • 4 drops of Balsam Fir

Use as directed above

Uplifting and Relaxing Diffuser Blend

This is one of my favorite diffuser blends. It is an uplifting, energizing, balancing, and relaxing diffuser blend. You can mix up a blend that you can then easily make several diffuser sessions from. Just use a few drops of this blend in your diffuser. You can add more if your room size requires more.

Uplifting, Energizing, Balancing and Relaxing Diffuser Blend

Diffuser Recipe

In a one ounce dropper bottle:

  • 5 ml of Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus limon)
  • 2 ½ ml of Geranium Essential Oil (Pelargonoum roseum X asperum)
  • 2 ½ ml. of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Cananga odorata)

(You may reduce this. I like it in this ratio but it may be a bit strong for your taste, if so, decrease the Ylang Ylang as it is potent.)

Gently swirl around to combine your oils.

How to Make Easy Delicious Hamburger Buns

How to Make Easy Delicious Hamburger Buns

I love making bread from scratch. Here is how you can make easy delicious hamburger buns for your family. The aroma of the bread baking coupled with the How to Make Easy Delicious Hamburger Bunsknowledge of the wholesome ingredients and the awesome taste says it all.  I want to share a recipe for incredible hamburger buns your family will TRULY love. They are better than anything you can purchase, I swear!

I have tried a number of recipes to come up with one that my family would enjoy. Several recipes are okay, but, I was looking for a GREAT one that everyone would look forward to eating. I believe I have come up with a recipe to be just that. I hope you enjoy as much as we do.

INGREDIENTS

1 Tablespoon yeast (I use Red Star Active Dry Yeast)

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 ¼ cup of warm water

3 Tablespoons melted butter

1 egg beaten

1 – ½ teaspoons kosher salt

3 – 3/4 to 4 cups of Artisan bread flour – Use any leftover flour to make a base to drop your bread on after it rises. (I use Bob’s Red Mill Artisan bread flour)

How to Make Easy Delicious Hamburger Buns

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put the warm water in a bowl, add yeast and sugar. Mix it up and cover with a clean towel for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a stand mixer, pour in the proofed yeast, melted butter, beaten egg and 2 cups of the Artisan bread flour. Mix in stand mixer until incorporated. Add salt and additional flour, add ½ cup at a time until you have a soft dough that pulls away from the bowl.  Cover and let mixture rise for about 1 ½ hours.
  3. Spread additional flour on a table as a base for your bread dough. Dump the flour out of your mixing bowl and turn over to coat both sides with flour. Cut dough into six to eight equal (doesn’t have to be perfect) pieces. Take each piece of dough and form into a rope about eight inches long. Loosely tie the dough together and tuck the ends in. Flatten the bun with your hand and place on a cookie sheet that is lined with parchment paper. Cover rolls with a clean towel and let rise about an hour or until double in bulk. Place in a preheated 400 degree oven until cooked. It should take about 12 – 15 minutes (ovens may vary).

Option: You can also brush with water (for a harder crust) or use an egg wash (for a soft crust) and add seeds of your choice.

This recipe calls for Artisan bread flour. It is different from bread flour or regular all-purpose flour. It contains wheat and malted barley flour. I think you will enjoy this recipe and may decide to make your own buns from now on. Not only are they delicious, you will have wholesome buns and save some money.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you make these buns and let me know how much your family LOVES them. Subscribe to receive future articles.

The Ultimate Granola Recipe You and Your Kids Will Love

Just about everyone has tasted granola and not everyone likes it. A bad granola is like eating animal feed. This ultimate granola recipe will have your kids of all ages coming back for more. It is full of healthy and delicious ingredients that you can make fresh at home. Ditch the cardboard granolas found on supermarket shelves for this healthy and delicious one.

The Ultimate Granola Recipe You and Your Kids Will Love

Granola isn’t just for breakfast anymore. There are lots of ways to enjoy it.

  1. Breakfast – with milk and fresh fruit or dry on the fly
  2. Camping snacks – lightweight and easy to pack

  1. Adds fiber – the oat and 7 grain cereal helps eliminate toxins, helps lower bad cholesterol, helps keep you feeling full so you eat less
  2. Pure Maple Syrup – Being from Vermont, I prefer Vermont syrup. Benefits – manganese, riboflavin, zinc calcium & potassium. Syrup has minerals and antioxidants that sugar cannot claim.
  3. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, flax seed, pumpkin seeds – protein rich, heart healthy oils

Granola does contain a high calorie count. If you are using it for energy and you are not over indulging, this is a great source of many nutritional benefits. It certainly is great for times when you need a boost.

The Ultimate Granola Recipe You and Your Kids Will Love Pure Maple Granola Recipe

In a large bowl add the following:

6 cups of oats

1 cup 7 grain cereal

1 1/3 cups chopped dried apricots

1 cup chopped dried dates

1 cup slivered almonds

1 ½ cups walnut halves

¾ cup roasted sunflower seeds

¼ cup flax seed

½ cup dried shredded coconut

1 1/2 – 2  cups pure maple syrup

Mix all the above ingredients well, except maple syrup. Put the pure maple syrup in a medium size saucepan and slowly cook on a little less than medium heat. Keep an eye on your pot. You DO NOT want this to boil over – that would be a big sticky mess. The Ultimate Granola Recipe You and Your Kids Will Love

Line two large sheet pans with parchment paper and preset your oven to 200 degrees. It will take about 45 or more minutes to get your syrup up to the soft ball stage, you want it to be about 260 – 265 degrees. Once you achieve this, pour it over the granola ingredients and mix quickly and well. Make sure everything is coated. You may not need all the syrup but it will be close. You can also put the granola mixture in two bowls to make mixing easier. Once everything is completely coated, drop the mixture on two prepared sheet pans. Place in oven for 15 minutes, then turn the sheet pans around, do another 15 minutes and then for the last 15 minutes change the bottom rack to the top and top rack to the bottom. This maneuvering will allow a more even toasting of the ingredients. Let this cool completely. Give it plenty of time to get to room temperature. Pack in air tight containers and enjoy.
